Dr. Gracas is board certified in Internal Medicine with eligibility for the pulmonary disease board in late 2023. Prior to joining Lyracore, Dr. Gracas completed 3 years of internal medicine residency and 2 years of pulmonary disease fellowship at Jamaica Hosptial Medical Ecener in Queens, NY. There he served as chief resident in his final year of residency in 2021 and was elected resident of the year that same year.
Attracted to medicine at a young age, Dr. Gracas was inspired by his uncle, also a physician, as well as by the chronic cardiac issues his mother experienced from a young age. Witnessing her struggles solidified his dream of becoming a medical doctor, hoping to use his knowledge to help her and others cure or control their chronic diseases. After attending Universidad Central del Este, in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, where he graduated with honors, Dr. Gracas moved to New York for his residency. During this time, his hospital became one of the most impacted by the COVID-19 infection and he spent months treating patients in the critical care unit, during which his passion for pulmonary medicine grew.
A compassionate, communicative, and patient-centric physician, Dr. Gracas shares Lyracore’s mission to provide a clinical environment rooted in empathetic care and a dedication to excellence in managing pulmonary diseases.
Dr. Gracas is fluent in three languages (English, Spanish, and Portuguese) and enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and two daughters visiting parks, hiking, and relaxing on the beach.
